CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Olivia

For a Thursday—or if we’re being technical, Friday morning—Tease is quite busy. You’d think on a weekday people would be heading to bed, so they are bright-eyed for work in the morning. No such luck. The place opened early with the new schedule, and Dave had to call in some more girls to pick up the pace. I wasn’t meant to be on tonight, so I only agreed to come in to take my mind off things, but all it’s done is resulted in a mood I can’t seem to snap out of.

Not only do we have two stag parties in tonight, but we have a Labour party who are here celebrating an election or something. They’re joined by the opposing team, which for us means a bunch of men trying to act cooler than the other. All they’ve done is make themselves stand out and look like idiots. They’ve highlighted the fact they are all slime bags who only think about money. You’d think with what they make in a week, they wouldn’t be so tight with the cash. But they are, and they treat us like we’re low-grade citizens begging for a handout. Doesn’t matter that their arses are sitting here spending on the taxpayers’ dime.

I need to go on my break, but once again, I’m called back to the Labour table. The guy waving me down must be in his late forties. He’s heavy around the stomach, has thinning hair at the back of his head, and likes to click his fingers to get my attention. The fact I can hear that damn clicking over the music, speaks volumes. I’m not a dog, so if he clicks them at me one more time, there’s going to be an accident.

“Your waitress will be with you soon. The bartender is just pouring your drinks,” I tell him when I reach the table.

“Tell them to add the bottle,” he tells me without meeting my gaze. “And get someone to clear this up. You aren’t at home. This is a place of business.”

I take a look at the mess on the table, and a few things come to mind. One: he and his friends are the ones who have made the mess. Secondly: I want to tell him he doesn’t get to order me around like I work for him. Either Dave needs to put up a sign about how to speak to us, or get comfortable real quick with us girls doing something about it.

“Right away,” I mutter. As I turn, I make sure to put my weight behind it, so the tassels on my skirt smack the side of his face. I pretend I don’t hear him yelling at me in pain and move to the table I was clearing before he started clicking those damn fucking fingers.

I grab the tray after cleaning up, and start on their table. I avoid getting too close to the man in question so I don’t get roped into another conversation.

I need
